BILLS OF QUANTITIESWe provide lump-sum and approximate Bills of Quantities for all our clients including private clients, contractors and sub-contractors.
The main purpose of a Bills of Quantities is to provide a document of measured items' quantity from provided specifications and drawings of the project. If the design of the project is finalised ES QS Quantity Surveyors will provide a Firm Bills of Quantities. Otherwise we will produce an Approximate Bills of Quantities. This will give a client an idea of the sum they need to secure for their project. When the project at an early stage of designing or there are not enough details to prepare Firm Bills of Quantities ES QS Quantity Surveyors will suggest preparing the Approximate Bills of Quantities (if all project's elements described correctly). This can happen when there is some uncertainty of the project's elements and time limiting factor but the project needs budgeting. From our experience Approximate Bills of Quantity is usually more moderate than Firm Bills of Quantities and will involve re-measurement and recalculation. The Bills of Quantities resolution created by ES QS Quantity Surveyors are professional and can save contractors and sub-contractors costs hiring a full-time staff to manage this work. The Bills of Quantity we provide to our clients' request can include different type of documents: • Form of tender; • Preliminaries (requirements, information and pricing plan); • Provisional total; • Measured term contracts (commonly used for minor works or for maintenance work); • Risks; • Credits (for materials arising from the works); • Daywork sheets; • Annexes. We are using all modern software which gives us with a fully integrated preparation approach and document management for procurement and the construction control of projects as well as preparation Bills of Quantities. We are very flexible in providing Bills of Quantities and with contractor requirements can prepare Bespoke Measurement as well as using SMM7 (Standard Method of Measurement) or NRM2 (New Rules of Measurement), Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement 3 or Agreed Rules of Measurement 4. All the details can be converted to Excel or CITE for further employment. |
